Afrobeat musician, Femi Kuti is now the new replacement for Charly Boy on the panel of the music talent hunt show sponsored by Etisalat. He will join Jeffery Daniels and Yinka Davies, judges since Season One.
Charly Boy, who was actively involved in the previous seasons, is out due to disagreement over professional fee.According to what bebeakinboade.blogspot.com gathered, Charly Boy also called Area Fada is alleged to have suddenly turned an Oliver Twist demanding for the whooping sum of 30 million Naira before he could enter the race in search for the next Nigerian Idol.
The meetings between Charly Boy and the producers of Nigerian Idol had severally ended in deadlock
as the former had insisted on pay rise.

Femi Kuti has disclosed that he has cancelled concert dates to be on the judges’ panel of Season Three of Nigeria Idol.

“I usually have my world tour in the first quarter of the year, but because I have become deeply involved with this show, I cancelled some gigs and shows because I have found my place in this show,” he said at a forum with the judges in Lagos.
Kuti explained the organisers have also made concessions. “Etisalat and Nigeria Idol have shifted audition dates so that I can attend to some of my business. On days that audition and my shows clashed, they rescheduled,” he said.
