TOKE MAKINWA, MAJE AYIDA SET FOR ALTAR

Wedding bells are set to ring for Toke Makinwa, anchor of an early morning show on Rhythm 93.7 FM and Maje Ayida, the famous son of former Secretary to the Federal Government, Allison Ayida.
All things being equal, the lovebirds will walk down the aisle in a classy marital ceremony in December.
Preparations are already in top gear. Details of the wedding are still sketchy, but we have it on good authority that they have been talking freely about their proposed union after their engagement a few days ago.
The lovebirds were said to have met about eight years ago through Sola Ojora at a party. Toke was then a student at the University of Lagos while Maje was a young man trying to start a new life after school.
A few weeks later, they started dating and Maje finally sealed the relationship by proposing marriage. The duo were said to have gone out for dinner after which they retired to Maje's apartment where he brought out a ring, knelt down and asked Toke to marry him.
Tole is an on-air personality with a high number of followers on her show, Early Morning Drive on Rhythm FM. She is also a TV personality and one of the presenters of 3 Livechicks. Maje is the CEO of Eden Lifestyle Health Fitness on Victoria Island, Lagos.

Founder of Trybe Records, Lanre Dabiri popularly known as eLDee Da Don has dropped a new hit single titled 'Category'. This is following the successful release of the video to his wedding song single, 'Today-Today' dropped few weeks back.

CONFIRMED: KELLY ROWLAND NOT RETURNING TO THE X FACTOR

Kelly Rowland will not be returning to The X Factor, it has been confirmed.

A statement released by her publicist read: "After much speculation, we can officially confirm today that Kelly Rowland has decided not to return as a judge again for this year's UK X Factor. Global commitments coupled with the show's increasing demands this year mean that, despite weeks of deliberation with the show, Kelly has not been able to agree a deal that fits into her autumn/winter schedule, so sadly cannot accept a place on the 2012 panel.

"Kelly thoroughly enjoyed her role as a judge on the show, but felt that if there couldn't be a workable solution to scheduling issues, so that she could effectively juggle her other commitments then she couldn't wholeheartedly commit to the show this year." 

Kelly Rowland herself added: "I love the UK and being part of the show last year. Mentoring the girls was such an incredible experience I will never forget.  I would like to thank Simon [Cowell] for the great opportunity and asking me to be a judge last season."

Katy Perry is now apparently in the running to replace Kelly Rowland on The X Factor, Louis Walsh has revealed.

ANOREXIC COVER GIRL MODEL DIES IN HER SLEEP AFTER WEIGHT DROPS TO JUST SIX STONE

 An anorexic teenage cover girl died of heart failure in her sleep after her weight dropped to just six stone.

Bethaney Wallace, 19, appeared to be living a dream lifestyle, appearing on the covers of glossy magazines including Girl Talk and Popgirl from the age of 12.

But despite her stunning good looks she never believed she was attractive enough and succumbed to anorexia and bulimia aged 16.

The illnesses left her too weak to work and she was forced to step away from modeling. Over recent months she had shown signs of finally getting on top of the devastating condition by cooking for herself and had even put together a new modeling portfolio.

But on April 18, she tragically passed away in her sleep while she was staying at her grandmother's house. 

Her devastated parents Clive, 47, and Cathy, 42, yesterday said there were indications Bethaney's weakened heart had failed as she slept.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie will reportedly tie the knot on 11 August 2012 - the same date as Pitt's parents Bill and Jane's golden wedding anniversary.

Up to 300 guests are expected to attend the nuptials, which are thought to be taking place at the couple's £35m French château, including Johnny Depp, Matt Damon, Tom Cruise and George Clooney.

"They thought their kids would love the idea of seeing mom and dad get hitched followed by a big bash for them as well as 'Meemaw and Grandpa' as they call Brad's folks," a source said.
"Jolie came up with the idea of making it a real family celebration by merging Bill and Jane's special day with theirs.
"Brad's family mean a lot to Angelina, especially since she lost her own mum Marcheline to ovarian cancer more than five years ago and spent years refusing to talk to her father.

OMONI OBOLI CELEBRATES BIRTHDAY WITH STREET CHILDREN

Nollywood actress, Omoni Oboli added a year penultimate week and instead of throwing a birthday bash for her friends, the actress decided to reach out to street children by throwing a party for them.
She accomplished this herculean task through her foundation called Omoni Oboli Foundation. The actress believed that celebrating her birthday with the less privileged children in the street will bring her happiness and fulfillment she desires in life.
The children were organized by Child Lifeline, an NGO that cares for the plight of the street children.
Also on hand to lend support to the project was the Live Well Initiative(LWI). They came with a team of medical professionals to examine, de-worm the children, and gave them vitamins and other non-prescription drugs.
There was  by a DJ and lots of foods, snacks, drinks, cakes to eat. The children left with gift packs. It was an all day event, ending at 6pm.
Omoni Oboli Foundation was founded to cater for the health and general well being of the under privileged women and children.

YES, KAREN IGHO IS ENGAGED!!!

We have followed with intrigue in the past few days, rumours and gist circulating on the supposed ‘Engagement of Ms Karen Igho to a Mystery man’ following her tweets on Twitter. Ms Karen Igho has requested that this news statement be made available to the public on the matter.

Ms Igho appreciates the curiosity and goodwill displayed by her fans, critics and friends in the media regarding her affairs; she however prefers to keep details on her ‘relationship’ intentions away from the public glare until when appropriate. However, to clear the air on the alleged tweets, they were random thoughts from Ms Karen Igho after an admirer and fan proposed to her. Celebrities often experience the same thing; Ms Igho only tweeted about one of such experience randomly.

In the meantime, Ms Karen Igho is actively evolving her brand name and business while taking on active roles in Nollywood and other related entertainment initiatives across Africa.

BOMB BLAST HITS THISDAY OFFICE IN ABUJA

A loud explosion rocked an area Abuja on Thursday followed by smoke and ambulances headed in the direction of the blast, with injuries reported.
Reports have it that the bomb blast in Abuja Thisday office in Jabi was carried out by a suicide bomber who drove into the media house before detonating the bomb hence blowing away the building ‘s roof.
But Mr Yushau Shuaib a National Emergency Management Agency spokesman said the blast “occurred inside the premises of a national newspaper,” adding that “a preliminary investigation seems to indicate that the explosive device was planted somewhere within the premises, not likely a case of suicide bombing.”
An AFP correspondent heard the blast and saw ambulances heading towards a district where a bus station and newspaper office are located.
A police spokesman said “we heard something like that happened, but we don’t have the details yet.”
A spokesman for the National Emergency Management Agency said “it’s true there was an explosion at Jabi (district).”
“NEMA officials are on the ground,” said Yushau Shuaib. “They are trying to move those injured to the hospitals, but we don’t have any information on casualties yet.”

What appeared like an unending feud between two star actresses, Lizzy Anjorin and Iyabo Ojo for about three years has now become history.

An industry source squealed that the two pretty thespians, who had been like day and night since 2008 have agreed to sheath their swords, having considered peace as the best option for progress in their career.

The source further disclosed that the peace was brokered by a top socialite, who felt concerned about the prolonged feud between the two actresses.

However, details of how the reconciliation was achieved are still sketchy. The two top actresses are happy that their long drawn battle of supremacy has ended at last.

It would be recalled that the two thespians fell apart sometime in 2008 at the movie premiere of one of their colleagues, Sikiratu Sindodo, which held at Event Place, Agidingbi, Ikeja, Lagos, over what was described as supremacy battle.

Since then, they have both been at loggerheads, leaving their numerous fans in doubt as to whether peace could ever be restored between the two. Now that they have agreed to sheath their swords, the industry is expected to see the two thespians work together again as friends and colleagues.

OMAWUMI MEGBELE APPOINTED AS MORTEIN BRAND SPOKESPERSON

Talented female singer, Omawumi Megbele has been appointed as Mortein brand spokesperson. The mother of one child was formally unveiled by the Managing Director, Reckitt Benckiser Nigeria Limited, Ashok Bhasin, at the opening of Mortein Voice Against Malaria Campaign. The event held at the Eko Hotel & Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, was in commemoration of the 2012 World Malaria Day.

Omawumi’s major duty as Mortein brand spokesperson is to use music to advocate improved care for women and children, and she has done that with the release of a song entitled “Mortein Voices Against Malaria”, which now enjoying massive airplay on local radio and television stations.

The other duty of 2007 first runner-up of the West Africa Idol, includes visiting ante-natal sessions at select public hospitals to advise pregnant mothers on the need to protect themselves, babies and family members from malaria.

Meanwhile, the worth of the deal was kept secret between the artist(Omawumi) and the company. Sources close to them, however, said its not the worth that matters, adding that the artist’s involvement is largely driven by her personal concern for women and children, especially children under the age of 5.   

IS MEGAN FOX PREGNANT?

Speculation has intensified that Megan Fox is pregnant with her first child. A source close to the couple has once again confirmed that the 25-year-old former Transformers actress is expecting her first baby with husband Brian Austin Green.
News of  Fox’s  possible pregnancy first surfaced last month. A mole at the time was quoted as saying: "They just found out and are incredibly excited... Megan has become a great stepmom, and Brian knows she'll be wonderful with the baby."
Fox and Green who were married in June 2010, first met while filming the sitcom Hope And Faith in 2004. The actress has previously spoken out about why their relationship works, saying: "I feel like I'm with my best friend... I've been with him for so long, so it feels natural and comfortable."

Ace Nollywood actor, Osita Iheme, popularly known as Pawpaw recently acquired a black LR3 Land Rover SUV Jeep with all the facilities that provide adequate comfort in a hi-tech luxury vehicle.

He took delivery of the wonder on wheels few days back, insisting that he must dedicate the vehicle to God in the church before going to town with it.

The actor presented the car to the pastor and members of The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Righteous Parish, Ogba, Lagos on Sunday April 15, 2012.

Findings revealed that Osita may have spent about N7.5 million to get himself this choice car.

Master Chudubem Godswill Tom, 13 months old, has a congenital heart defect. His parents, Mr. Abochi and Mrs. Ngozi Tom, from Ariam-Eluelu in Ikwuano Local Government Area of Abia State have appealed to Abia State Governor, Chief Theodore Orji, to help fund their son’s open heart surgery in India. The distressed mother disclosed that all arrangement...ts has been concluded for Tom’s open heart operation in India but, cried that securing the N3million (three million naira) needed has remained a great challenge.

VICTORIA BECKHAM DESIGNED HER RANGE ROVER FOR HER HUSBAND DAVID

The fashion designer unveiled the Range Rover Victoria Beckham Special Edition Evoque in Beijing, China on Sunday, April 22, 2012  and admitted she thought about her soccer star spouse’s likes and dislikes when working on the £79,995 vehicle.

She said: “I wanted to design a car David and I would want to drive. I want everyone who gets in to feel special.”

The Range Rover – of which only 200 will be produced – boasts 20in black alloys, a rose gold plated grille surround and tan leather sears and comes with a Victoria Beckham four-piece designer luggage set.

The former Spice Girls singer is delighted with the positive response her vehicle received at the unveiling.

KC, one half of the defunct group called KC Presh recently dropped two new singles ‘Okpekete’ remix featuring a South African rapper Pablo and ‘Tori Tori’ featuring Harrysong.
