BOKO HARAM ACQUIRES HELICOPTER

A member of the Islamic terror group, boko haram residing in Maiduguri that was arrested by the JTF yesterday disclosed that the terror sect have a helicopter.
The sect member claimed the helicopter was brought from Libya after Khadafi was killed and much of his weapons went to Al-Qaida, and he said more was coming from Somalia and Mali.
This is the second time the group is claiming to be having a heavy weapon, it occurred in 2009, when the group claims it's having a tank which it collected from the Nigerian army. The main problem is that the helicopter is the same color with the Nigerian army's helicopter.
The arrested Boko Haram member claimed the helicopter may soon be used in an operation.

POLICE ARREST TWO MEN LIVING WITH THEIR BROTHER’S CORPSE

Residents of Festac, Lagos, were treated to a horror show on Thursday as the mutilated decomposing corpse of a man was discovered inside the house occupied by his two brothers.
The three brothers had been living at B Close, House 6 of 3rd Avenue, after their father died and left the property for them.
The corpse, identified as that of Akinbuyi Ajayi, 39, who was living in the same apartment with Toye Ajayi and Omotola Ajayi, who were identified as his brothers. He was allegedly killed by his brothers and his body kept in a room inside the flat.

Police officers raided the house after the two brothers allegedly were caught with human body parts. The mutilated corpse, missing its head, hands and genitals, was discovered after police officers searched their apartment.
Divisional Police Officer in the area, Mohammed Mu’azu, said other incriminating items were seized from the house. They include: charms, a pot filled with suspected human blood and two large dummies of human beings. Some of the charms were concealed inside a paper bag with the inscription: 'Lord Krishna Agabarthi 999'.

If Charity Okoroukwu, a 27-year-old woman, who graduated in Business Administration from the Institute of Management Technology (IMT), Enugu, had known that danger was lurking around the corner 11 days to her wedding, she would not have attempted to refuel a kerosene lantern on December 17, 2011.
On that fateful day, she was refueling the lantern when it caught fire, exploded and left her with third degree burns. But till date, a yet unsolved riddle still bothers her about the incident. The fire, which disrupted her life, did not affect the keg containing the kerosene. HILLARY CLINTON TO VISIT NIGERIA IN AUGUST

United States Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, is billed to visit Nigeria early next month.Though the visit has not been officially announced by the US government, sources at the State Department said preparations were in top gear for the Secretary of State to be in Abuja early August on a one-day visit.
It was learnt that Nigerian Ambassador, Professor Adebowale Adefuye, who would begin his annual leave early August, has held several meetings with officials of the US government on the planned visit.
Though we could not confirm the exact date of the planned visit at the time of going to press, it was learnt from sources at the State Department that Clinton's itinerary includes meeting with top Nigerian officials in Abuja.
We also gathered that while in Abuja, Hillary may also use the opportunity of her visit to announce some major gains of the Nigeria, US Binational Commission (BNC).
It was Clinton who signed the Bi-national Commission Agreement with the then Secretary to the Federal Government, Ahmed Yayale, at the State Department, Washington DC in April of 2010.

DETAILS OF P-SQUARE’S MUM BURIAL

According to the publicist of P-Square, Square Image Associates,It has been confirmed that the remains of the mother of multiple award-winning singer, P-Square, Mrs Josephine Okoye, would be laid to rest on August 2, 2012.
Mrs Okoye, 62, who died on Wednesday, July 11, 2012, would be buried in her husband's house at Ifite-Dunu, Akwa Village, Anambra State on Thursday, 2 August, 2012.
Shortly before the burial, there will be a lying-in-state at her Umunachi, Umudioka Village, Anambra State and a church service at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, before the proper burial at Ifite-Dunu, which will also be the reception venue. The one-day funeral will be anchored by M.I.C, leading undertakers in Nigeria and is expected to be attended by colleagues of P-Square in the entertainment industry and some state governors amid tight security.

WOMAN ARRESTED FOR LURING TEENAGE VIRGIN FOR RAPIST

A woman, Ukamaka Oluche, who allegedly lured her teenage friend (name withheld) to a suspected rapist, Tunde Mesanga, has landed herself and the man in serious trouble. The two are now standing trial at a Magistrate’s Court in Apapa, Lagos on a two-count charge of conspiracy and rape. The court ordered that they be remanded at Kirikiri prisons, Apapa.
Ukamaka and the18-year old teenage girl have been friend for some years. The victim confided in Ukamaka that she was a virgin and would like to remain so until after her university education and marriage. The teenager did not know her friend was not happy at such a revelation.
Ukamaka therefore lured the victim to suspected rapist’s house somewhere in Agric area of Lagos-Badagry expressway, where she was allegedly raped by Mesanga. Both of them reportedly stripped the victim while Tunde raped her.
The incident was later reported to the police; Ukamaka and Mesanga were arrested and charged to court.
The police prosecutor told the court that the two suspects contravened sections 409 and 263 of the Criminal Code Laws of Lagos state of Nigeria, 2011. When the charge was read to them, Ukamaka and Mesanga pleaded not guilty.
The presiding magistrate, Mr. E.O. Ogundare admitted each of them to bail in the sum of N200,000 with one surety each in the like sum. The matter was adjourned till 19 October, 2012 for mention. But because they did not meet the bail condition on time, they were remanded in Kirikiri prisons, Apapa, pending when their sureties will perfect their bail conditions

The news of the death of the President of Ghana, Prof. John Evans Atta Mills indeed took all by a bitter sadness. He died on. Tuesday, June 24, 2012 after a after a prolonged battle with throat cancer. Mills died in a hospital in the capital Accra while receiving treatment.
The 68-year-old Mills, who oversaw the start of large-scale oil production in Ghana in December 2010, had recently traveled to the United States for a medical check-up.
In accordance with Ghana's constitution, Vice President John Dramani Mahama was sworn in as president before an emergency session of parliament, pledging to maintain stability as he serves out the remainder of Mills' term.
"I wish Ghanaians to be assured that all is well," the 53-year-old who has also served as communications minister and recently published a memoir said. "We are going to maintain the peace, unity and stability that Ghana is noted for."
He declared a week of national mourning, with flags to be flown at half-mast.
Various international bodies, world leaders, organizations, civil society groups and institutions have expressed their deepest condolences and sympathies to the immediate family of the late President John Evans Atta Mills, the people of Ghana and the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).

I CAN RULE BEYOND EIGHT YEARS – JONATHAN

President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday told an Abuja High Court hearing a suit against his alleged 2015 re-election bid that his stay in office could legally go beyond eight years under certain conditions.
Jonathan was responding in a suit asking the court to declare him ineligible to run for re-election because that would extend his tenure beyond the maximum eight years provided by the constitution, given that he took over as President in May 2010 after the death of then-President Yar’Adua.

The case was filed by Peoples Democratic Party presidential aspirant, Mr Cyriacus Njoku, on March 20 seeking the determination of section 135 (2) and 137 (1) of the Constitution which limit presidential tenure to maximum of two terms of four years each.
Njoku is asking the court to determine whether in spite of these provisions President Jonathan can seek re-election and take a third oath of office having already taken oaths twice, first on May 6, 2010 after Yar’Adua’s death and then on May 29, 2011 after the general elections.

FUNKE OSIBODU RESIGNS FROM UNION BANK

The Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Union Bank of Nigeria Plc, Mrs. Funke Osibodu, is to step down following a reorganisation of the board and management of the company by the core investors, Union Global Partners Limited, in agreement with the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON).
Sources close to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) revealed that Osibodu would be replaced by Mr. Emeka Emuwa, who is currently the Managing Director of Citibank Nigeria Limited.
Osibodu was appointed on August 14, 2009 following the intervention of the CBN in Union Bank and four other banks that failed a stress test on their financial health.
It was gathered that she has already been told about the decision to let her go as the CEO of the bank.

NIGERIAN PRINCE ARRESTED FOR RAPING A GIRL IN INDIA

The no-nonsense Bangalore police have arrested a 31-year-old Nigerian, identified as Prince John for allegedly raping a girl in Manipuri, India. He was picked up on Sunday.
The Chinese authorities have also already secure a court injuction to remand Prince John in custody for the next 14 days to conclude investigations. “The accused raped the victim on May 13 in Bangalore. He had threatened her with dire consequences if she went to the police.

"Later, the victim fled to Mumbai and lodged a complaint with the police there. The case was transferred to us and we arrested Prince John,” said Bangalore rural superintendent of police D. Prakash.
According to the police sources, we gathered that Prince John is in Bangalore on a student visit. He met and befriended the victim’s aunt a few months ago. On May 13, the victim and her aunt visited Prince John at his residence.

The two doctors had earlier designed the device which they had tested on about fifty calves. They said these calves had resumed their normal physiological activities such as grazing, sleeping the following day after the surgical operations.They said these animals has no pulse and the electrocardiogram was flat.
