Happy New Year to all fashionistas! A new year is a time for reflection , but is the face you see in the mirror the same one you saw at the beginning of 2012? At, we would like to take a look at our crystal ball and see what the future trends would look like in 2013.

This strong tribal trend from the spring/summer 2012 catwalk will still be around for spring/summer 2013. Mixing futuristic and modern shapes is the key to utilizing cubic variations in tribal style. Attention to pattern and embellishment features heavily within this trend.

We are going to show some skin this year, but in very careful manner by balancing it without revealing so much. This see-through leaves little or nothing for the imagination, but it’s sassy and classy enough for formal occasions, too.
In 2012, it was all about colour clashing your lids and lips with your toes. This year, the focus is on matching everything: your lips, toes, nails and even your eyes too! Too matchy-matchy, you say? We think not. Embrace it!

Other trends that are anticipated include oversized ruffles used to accentuate sleeves, skirts and dresses. And for those who like patterned prints, well, this year, once more you can indulge in your artsy prints such as tie-dye.
For anyone who truly loves make-up, the trends for this year will be more colourful with bejeweled eyelids and extra-long lashes.
Bejeweled eyes is  just a beauty trend best reserved for party season, embellished  eyes will be one whopper of a trend this year drawing attention to coloured liner, jewelled lids, futuristic platinum eyes and extra-long lashes. A little dramatic, yes, but so much fun to experiment with.

In as much as we hate this trend, it seems it’s going to come on stronger with modification this year.  The crop tops would be taking center stage, but the bare midriff has gone mini and would be showing just a little hint of the stomach.

There are different styles of handbags, shoes and other accessory considered forever classic. Elegant clutches, stylish totes, and graceful pumps are excellent wardrobe additions.
For dresses, you will find the belted floral ones very popular, representing a breakaway from the traditional corporate look of conservative separates. These dresses will come as feminine as they can with a cinched-in shape and longer hem (think above the knee-to-midi length). While ideal for the office, these dresses can be accessorised and worn to fit many other occasions.

For the season, T-shirts will also get a luxe makeover. They will come in delicate fabrics and slash-neck cuts.

Bright and loud colours will return for 2013. Colours such as ox blood red and emerald green are some of the popping ones which have already surfaced in stores and on the streets.

So there you have it, my fashionistas; the chart-topping trends of the year.
Enjoy, and make it your most glamorous year yet!
