Chika Ike rocking Mac Ruby Woo

Since MAC cosmetics opened its retail store in Nigeria, lots
of fashion loving Nigerians have been trooping to the store, in a bid to ensure
that the product they are purchasing is 100% original.
And the most sought after item of the MAC makeup line is the MAC Ruby Woo
lipstick.
Celebs like Rita Dominic, Chika Ike, Munachi Abii, and Yvonne Ekwere are just a
few of the Ruby Woo loving celebs.
The Ruby Woo has been and is still a common trend on Hollywood
red carpets and has now found its way into Nollywood.
Stars like Rihanna, Gwen Stefani and Angelina Jolie, can hardly be seen making
a red carpet appearance without the “woo.”

Red lipstick is the easiest way to go if you want to look chic and glamorous.
Red does it for a dull look anyday.
And the MAC Ruby Woo lipstick is a shade that is right for every skin
tone.
It has been described it as a ‘Very Matte Vivid Blue Red’ – that means it has
blue undertones. It’s also called ‘Retro Matte’
Red lips are elegant, glamorous, and never go out of style.

But what could have been responsible for the sudden rush for the woo? Could it
be because top celebs are on the trend and others just want to tag along as a
status thing, (as the ruby woo look can’t be missed, it can easily be told
apart from other red lipsticks). Or could it just simply be the fact that this
matte formula goes with all skin tones and dress colours?

Whatever it is, if you already have the woo or are on your way to get one,
bebeakinboade.com presents some tips to know for “wowing in the woo”:

•Get a lip liner in a similar colour and line your lips along the edges,
to help maintain a crisp line of colour.

•Apply with a lip brush for precision, as this will allow you to layer on the
colour and apply it evenly, and it will also let you control and ensure it stays
within your natural lip line.

•Since the ruby woo is a really matte formula, apply a hydrating lip balm about
half an hour prior to applying your lip colour. If by the time you are ready to
put the lip colour there is excess balm that hasn’t yet absorbed, blot it off
before you apply your lip colour.

•Apply red lipstick on your lips starting from the centre of your lips and
working it outwards to the corners.
Now take a sheet of tissue paper, fold it in half, and then blot your lips by
placing the tissue between your upper and lower lips and pressing your lips
together.
Apply a second coat of the same red lipstick.

Have fun trying out this technique and rocking out your red lips!
