STYLE INSPIRATION: SPRUCE UP YOUR LOOK WITH A FEDORA HAT

Spread the love
Fedora hats; we
have seen plenty of fedoras on the runway this season, both locally and
internationally.   Nigerian designers like Ade Bakare, Toju Foyeh and
Kinabuti are some of the few that have included fedoras in their collection. Fedora
hats are extremely versatile; they go well with different styles from classy to
sporty, from casual to formal. When choosing a
fedora, you need to follow some principles which are pretty much common sense.

If you are more
on a petite side, do not go for a hat with really large brim, so that it does
not swallow or shrink you. Tall women on the other hand may afford to wear hats
with wider brims. You also need to make sure that a hat flatters your face by
making it seem oval.  For example, a fedora with a raised crown will
really compliment a round face by elongating it. Small hat, on the contrary,
would make a round face look even bigger. Fedoras are totally cool and come
mostly in straw, leather and felt.
Wear with a pair of jeans, a tee, a simple casual dress or a
jacket. By adding fedora to a casual look, you will make your outfit really
stand out.  Fedora will also go really well with jackets of different
style, from military to oversized ones as well as with various leather and even
jeans jackets.  If you love how fedora looks on others, but still hesitate
to wear one yourself, you may want to give it a try.
Make sure you choose one that suits your face shape and note
that positioning make all the difference: A fedora shouldn’t be perched high on
your crown or squashed down on your brow. It should frame your eyes but not
hide your face.
