PRESIDENT BUHARI HEADS TO CHAD, NIGER IN FIRST OFFICIAL TRIP TOMORROW

Muhammadu Buhari will depart Nigeria for Niger Republic and Chad tomorrow Wednesday.
The President will during his first official trip outside Nigeria since his
inauguration last friday, visit to the leaders of the West African states
explore means to effectively crush the Boko Haram terrorists operating along
the borders of Nigeria and its neighbours.
Troops from
Chad and Niger make up the Multinational Task Force fighting the Boko Haram.
 “Buhari will go to the Niger Republic on
Wednesday and will spend a night there before proceeding to Chad the next day,”
Garba said.

In a related
development, President Buhari Monday met with National Security Adviser, Sambo
Dasuki at the Defence House, where the President is temporarily working from
following the ongoing renovation works at the Presidential Villa.
Though
details of the meeting were not disclosed, it was obvious that the rising
attacks of the Boko Haram in Borno and Yobe States topped the agenda.
