LAGOS COCKTAIL WEEK RETURNS

Spread the love
Organisers of the Lagos Cocktail Week (LCW) have announced the return of the weeklong event. The festival, first introduced in 2014 by cocktail enthusiast Lara Rawa, CEO of Eventi Cocktails, was created to showcase the best of Lagos Cocktail Culture, with close similarity to cocktail weeks that hold in major cities around the world.

The weeklong event aims at providing individuals, businesses, corporations and global brands a platform to interact, connect and share brand value.

The festival can also be described as a gathering of cocktail enthusiasts as beverage brands and lovers of great cocktails and mocktails alike get to indulge their taste buds at designated hubs. It will feature exhibitions, master classes, tastings amongst other side attractions.

The maiden edition last year tagged, “Eventi Cocktail Weekend” was held in April 2014 at the Soul Bar, Intercontinental Hotel Lagos. The event saw more than 100 guests in attendance, with a ‘taste-off’ competition between the spirits brand represented. The highlight of the event was the garnish show where a South African chef showed guests and festival participants how to style a cocktail with garnish in shape of a bird amongst many other great cocktail tricks.

In attendance were celebrities, Lagos State Government, event planners and also the hospitality industry.

Speaking about this year’s festival, Lara Rawa, the CEO of Eventi Cocktail and creator of the festival said in the statement, “This year, the event has been renamed ‘Lagos Cocktail Week’ and will be different in various ways; for one, we are switching up some of the competitions and encouraging more of our guests to try their hands at making cocktails at some of the different hubs.

“We are also signing up partnering bars who will offer cocktails at a discount to LCW wristband wearers. Anyone interested in taking advantage of the promotions and offers happening during the week will need to purchase wristbands from the official hub, The Milano Bar at the Intercontinental Hotel.

“A master-class will run for 2 days (9th & 13th of November 2015) at the official hub. This is targeted at consumers who are interested in developing their soft skills. There will also be taste sessions at designated hubs to showcase both global brands and indigenous Nigerian brands, with the closing ceremony scheduled to hold on the evening of the 14th of November 2015 at the Intercontinental Hotel Terrace.

“The event is proudly supported by; The Lagos State Ministry of Tourism and Intergovernmental Relations, Intercontinental Hotel Lagos, Patron Tequila, Luxeria Spirits, Cool FM and Bella Naija.”
