HOW TO DELETE THE LAST 15 MINUTES OF YOUR GOOGLE SEARCH HISTORY

Spread the love

Are you concerned about what your most recent google search says about you? Google has now made it possible to delete the previous 15 minutes’ worth of searches. As a consequence, when you start typing, you will eliminate the risk of previous results appearing on the Google homepage.

It’s important to note that this is not the same as your browser history. Although your web browser, whether it’s Google Chrome, Safari, Microsoft Edge, or Firefox, will keep track of the websites and searches you’ve done in order to help you navigate to a page later, Google keeps track of your searches as well. These are used to personalize ads based on your preferences, recommend YouTube videos based on your interests, and bring up previous search words as you type.

Of course, Google has previously provided the opportunity to search without fear of the results being used for any of the above purposes. Incognito Mode is a feature built into Google Chrome that prevents Google from recording all of your web activity (though it’s worth noting that your internet provider – BT, Sky, Virgin Media – still sees everything you do, as do a range of on-screen ads, Facebook login buttons scattered across the web, and more…)

This latest feature could come in handy if you haven’t used Incognito Mode and want to delete the last quarter of an hour from the record.

The Californian company announced earlier this week at its annual developer conference, Google IO, that it will now include a quick shortcut to delete the last 15 minutes of queries using its search engine.

If you find yourself searching for birthday gifts without Incognito Mode turned on, go to Google.co.uk’s main page, click your profile icon in the top right-hand corner, select Manage Your Google Account, and then select “Delete History” from the menu. It’s that simple.

Google claims that it has prioritized this new feature because it thinks it would be extremely popular among users. That indicates that this is something that forgetful Google users have been pleading with the company to do for a long time.
