COUNTDOWN TO MISS GLOBAL PAGEANT

The arrangements for this year’s Miss Global Nigeria pageant is at crescendo with lots of fun and unflinching support from big conglomerates which have promise to make the event a grand success. The grand finale promises to be imposing and as a build up to the show proper, the activities of the contestants in camp will be shown live on Television Continental and HI TV for a period of one week.
As you read this, three foreign diplomats have been confirmed as part of our platinum guests while top flight celebrities have been sending in their responses to be on the VIP train.

CAMPING ACTIVITIES TO BE SHOWN LIVE ON TV CONTINENTAL & HITV
In what looks like a novel idea, viewers at home will be opportune to watch the activities of the 2011 Miss Global contestants LIVE on air everyday on Television Continental (TVC) and HI Media’s three channels (Hi Nolly English and Yoruba and For Real TV). Camping kicks off on Sunday, June 12th, 2011 and expected to last for seven days with catwalk grooming, choreography, hair styling, talent display, gaming, task surmounting and so as parts of the projected bustles in camp.

SPONSORS STORM CAMP VILLAGE
Miss Global contestants are sure in for a big treat as some of our sponsors have insisted to be in camp with the girls. Expected in camp is FAN MILK management which provides them with everything that has to do with their products. The girls are going to have enough of yougurt, ice cream and all FAN MILK products in the house. Also at the camp is the Unilever management which is taking charge of all domestic products like seasoning for cooking, soap like LUX, Vaseline and other products while on its own, Tasty Time management has signed a 100 cartons of 500 ml water and carbonated drinks for the lasting enjoyment of Miss Global contestants. As at press time, talks are being perfected with the International Distilleries Limited owned VELETA (a cocktail drink), though, VELETA is one of our sponsors, camping arrangements are still being resolved on the balance of probabilities.

IV IN CLASSES
Our IV this year has been grouped into three classes because of the level of guests we’re expecting for the show. Top of the range in the category is the platinum section followed by gold and then diamond, the reason for this is to make the event an international standard. The sections as it were are meant to accommodate foreign diplomats, top government officials, panel of judges, important dignitaries in the society, showbiz impresario, people in the oil and banking and the society at large.

WATER TIGHT SECURITY
To ensure a smooth and fun-filled event, men of the Nigeria Police special squad have been dragged in as part of the team of organizers, this was made possible by a super cop and one of Nigeria’s finest police officers, Supol Kehinde Longe who has given his words and detailed his men to be on hand for free flow of the event’s planning.

FOUR AMBASSADORS TO ATTEND
As you read this, we can confirm to you that, not less than four diplomats have confirmed their intention to attend the coronation ball. Aside the Jamaican High Commissioner In Nigeria, His Excellency, Ambassador Robert Miller who’s the chief host, other diplomats of repute who have finalized arrangements even regarding their cosmopolitan attires are the consul general of the Embassy of the Republic of Germany, His Excellency, Ambassador Walter Van Driesch and the Trinidad and Tobago High Commissioner, His Excellency Ambassador Nyahuma Obika to mention but a few.

RAVE OF THE MOMENT, DUNCAN WENE-MIGHTY ON BANDSTAND
By now, our revered guests should have in mind what they should expect on the d-day. Aside lots to munch and drinks at the event, the rave of the moment, newest whizkid of the hip hop industry, Port-Harcourt based talented lyricist, Duncan Wene-Mighty is the host musician for the night. Duncan has given us his words and his manager, Blessing Subair during our last discussion has this to say, “no problem, you guys should go ahead, Duncan is honouring you guys, we shall be there LIVE for the show.

WHO’s DOING WHAT?
UNILEVER
On the list of our lead sponsors is the multinational firm, Unilever Plc which is throwing its weight behind the show in the area of support sponsorship and advert placement. Unilever’s TV Commercials will roll on air during the camping programme on TVC and HI TV. It has also been concluded that every guests that attended the event is assured of getting goody bags of all Unilever’s range of products which will be distributed free at the grand finale.

LUX
Lux, a renowned household item which is one of Unilever’s flagships is our special partner. Our management is finalizing post pageant deal with the brand manager of Lux, Nike George Aiyudu, the deal which we won’t want to leak for now is fatty in favour of the Miss Global Queen and that’s just part of the brand’s support despite its expected visibility at the event’s proper.

AIR NIGERIA
The nation’s carrier, Air Nigeria is our official Airline. The newly re-engineered aviation company which is enjoying massive investment from one of Nigeria’s wonder boys in the business world, Jimoh Ibrahim will be responsible for the air-lifting of our VIP guests from Abuja, Port-Harcourt and also our crew. We have finalized logistics arrangements with the Sales and Marketing manager, Funmi Aiyepeku and her vice, Johnson Onokoko.

FAN MILK
Aside treating our guests to its range of products and exotic juicy drinks, Fan Milk management is considering special deal with any of our runners-up as the face of the company. We’ve been in constant talks and agreement with the firm’s top flight staff like Mr. Umar and Ehis.

DARK & LOVELY
This American hair products firm, Dark and Lovely is also one of our sponsors. Dark and Lovely is supplying the eventual Queen its beauty range for 6 months and also goody bags for 50 of our VIP guests and judges. We’re also finalizing other endorsement arrangements for the Queen with the company’s headquarters in the US through its Ghanaian but Nigerian based partner, Mr. John Tormenti.

ZIZI CARDOW
One of Nigeria’s fabulously talented fashion designers, Zizi is costuming all our contestants during the evening gown session. She’s also charged with clothing our female crew, anchors and presenters.

POWER HORSE
The firm is no doubt a leading energy drink known for supporting creditable causes. Promoted by Charvet Nigeria Limited, the soar away firm has helped boosted our events severally and its management has once given its words to entertain every guest with its range of products, Power Horse and Kiss Mix to satisfaction. Alaa Anis who’s the head of sales and marketing told us that, the die is cast as regards the logistic preparation for the event.

SOULMATE
The management of SoulMate, a hair products manufacturer is on board this project in the capacity of an associate sponsor. SoulMate aside supplying its products is also talking to our management on the possibility of endorsing one of the runners-up.

TASTY TIME
This wave-making manufacturer of bottled water, flavoured drinks, confectioneries and other packaging products is our official water company. Tasty Time is officially in charge of the drinking water and flavoured drinks both in camp and at the grand finale. According to the general manager of the reputable firm, Olumayowa Kole, ‘ we’re on board because we believe in your project, we shall supply bottled water for your contestants and crew in camp and also at the event proper’, he assured us.

THE GRANDEUR
Just like its name, The Grandeur is grandeur-like in shape, structure and amenities. This newest but fast rising finest events venue boasts of standard paraphernalia, in fact, what it offers in terms of satisfaction for guests remains to be beaten. Just name it, executive VIP lounge celebrant, exclusive toilets for guests’ convenience, 2 heavily generating plants for uninterrupted power supply, easy access to main road, security to mention but a few. The Grandeur is hosting the event as our sole venue sponsor.

SAHEED KEKERE-EKUN A.K.A KING OF SMALL CHOPS IN THE HOUSE
If his name, Sahhed Kekere-Ekun does not readily come to mind, then the company name, Saheeto will definitely ring a bell. Yes, Saheeto, known as the king of small chops is also on board. His outfit is in charge of treating the upwardly mobile guests to an array of modern finger foods.

AND LANRE JIMOH, LAREDO TOO
On the pack of those throwing their weights for the successful outing of the 2011 Miss Global pageant is this fragile, lanky but down to earth managing director of LAREDO, an award winning finger foods expert. According to his words, “haba, we’re on board, we’re aware its an annual rites and you don’t need to think twice as regards what myself and my team are doing for you, you can bank on us, we shall treat your contestants on their first day in camp and also the guests at the show, Laredo boss assured.

VELETA
This excellently brewed cocktail drink is one of International Distilleries Limited, IDL’s finest brands and the company has been our major sponsor in most of the events. The humble brand manager, Eric told us in a meeting we had in his office of its brand’s assurance in supporting the cause. So, guests should expect lots of Veleta drink as its is the sole cocktail drink we’re offering.

LISE BEAUTY RANGE
Eni Balogun, the Island big girl behind Lise beauty range is also a support sponsor. The make up artist of note is given away her rich-make up range of products as goody bags for runners up, some of our crew members and panel of judges.

BABES R Us
Owned by Sylvia Nnamudi, Babes R Us is a high profile beauty salon which deals in unisex hair-do. The salon is responsible for contestants’ hair-do and also for the female crew.

MUDI
This international standard fashion house with branches in South Africa, Abuja and Lagos is clothing our male anchors. The quiet, urbane and easy going proprietor, Clement Enajemo has promised to deliver by way of clothing our anchors.

AND THE HOSPITALITY FIRMS
We have on board about four hotels servicing the event. Top on the list is Laveronique, followed by Veneto, R & A and BJs which is based in Victoria Island, Lagos. These top hospitality gardens are in charge of accommodation logistics for some of our guests and crew.
