REAL REASONS MO’CHEDDAH PARTED WAYS WITH HER MANAGEMENT COMPANY

Spread the love
Recently, talented and award winning female singer, Modupeoreoluwa Oyeyemi popularly known as Mo’Cheddah parted ways with her record label/management company, Knighthouse.

Mo’cheddah made the announcement of her break-up with Khinghthouse on Valentine’s Day (February 14, 2012).

No reason was however given by the two sides. In a statement jointly signed, they admitted to continue to support one another and make sure the relationship remains cordial as possible.
Knighthouse CEO, Rogba Arimoro said the label is proud of what it has achieved with the act in over half a decade, adding that “We wish her very well in all her future endeavours”.
The crooner in her own statement, said, “I am moving on the search for other opportunities, while still maintaining a close personal relationship with Knighthouse”.

Meanwhile, there are different reports on why Mo’Cheddah ended her three year working relationship with the record label that discovered and nurtured her to stardom. One report claimed that Mo’Cheddah has grown increasingly greedy and that a financial disagreement is responsible for the break-up.

The report added that the success of her new single, “See Me”, has made the singer to demand an upward review of the revenue sharing formular between her and Knighthouse. But the label’s CEO, Mr Rogba Arimoro and its director Temi Gomez disagreed with her new demands.
Another report revealed Mo’Cheddah has been dissastified with the handling of her financial matter by the outfit.
“Despite her reported N5 million endorsement with a hair cream company (Soulmate) last year and performance engagement fees, she does not have a car of her own. The Knighthouse hasn’t treated her well. You would not believe that even as we speak, she doesn’t have a car of her own. Whenever she wants to go for shows, Rogba or her boyfriend takes her. But it would not have been out of place if Knighthouse had given her a car all this while” as quoted by the report.
But Rogba, the CEO of Knighthouse said, “We did our best for her, even going above board sometimes to make her comfortable. We put everything in place to ensure that she blossomed. So having a car or not is a non issue”.
Further investigations revealed the real reason Mo’Cheddah parted ways with Knighthouse. A very close friend of the singer who craved anonymity said, “It’s very simple. Mo’Cheddah discovered that they are not what she thought they were and so she decided to move on with her career. You can’t live in the lion’s den for too long”.
The source spoke further, “It’s the best decision any body that love her would have wanted her to take. A great one and I am very sure she will survive. Mo’Cheddah is strong and ambitious; forget that she’s a lady. She wants to prove a point to herself that with God, she will survive”.
According to what we also gathered, Mo’Cheddah and Knighthouse’s relationship is more than business and didn’t start 3 years ago as reported. We reliably gathered that their relationship started 9 years ago when the crooner was 12.
According to a family source, “Mo’Cheddah and Knighthouse’s relationship started in 2003 when she was just 12. They were Mo’Cheddah’s family friends that came around their house a lot when she was pretty young. They discovered her talent and decided to start grooming her since then”.
They would however get to know her when the Knighthouse family unveiled her in 2009. Following the success of her debut album, “Franchise Celebrity” in 2010, Mo’Cheddah won the prestigious Channel O Awards for Most Gifted Video as well as being named the MTV Best Act in 2011.
No word yet from Mo’Cheddah on whether she’s planning to become self-signed or if she is moving to another label.
