 The first edition of what can be termed the
“Nigerian Oscars” has finally come and gone.Apart from looking forward to “who will win what”, another factor that
made the show much anticipated is what the stars will be wearing. Some got it right;
some need to ditch their stylists while some need to get an entire make over

Jackie Appiah, though an extremely gorgeous lady seems not to have put much
thought into her choice of dress for the show. Although the colour of the dress
works for her, the dress is neither form fitting nor figure flattering. And it
looks badly tailored at the top.

Rita Dominic choice of satin looks too “bridal” and shiny for a show
of this calibre. Otherwise the neckpiece and turban she took a gamble wearing
worked well. And any lady with those size of arms has no business wearing a
sleeveless. Hit the gym girl!


Although Funke Akindele’s dress is well tailored, looks classy and all, she
just couldn’t pull it off, can’t lay a finger on what exactly it is, but she
just doesn’t have the right aura to pull it off.

Stephanie Okereke usually looks elegant on the red carpet, but this time the
dress looks tacky and the fabric looks cheap. So not red carpet worthy.

Funlola Aofiyebi’s look is elegant and can be awarded a pass mark.

I (and am sure many of her fans) expected more from Genvieve than this simple
yellow dress.

All hail the queen of the red carpet Osas Ighodaro! This lady got everything
right and is simply a ten over ten! From her hair to the chandelier earrings;
her mermaid dress to her clutch, this babe just has everything working for her,
including her subtle smile. She really proved that her days as beauty queen
(Miss Black USA) were not a waste. Rita, Genny, Stephanie and others, please
take a cue!
