RISING STAR: KEIRA HEWATCH
Keira Hewatch was born on November 8th in Calabar,
Cross River state of Nigeria. She attended several primary schools, the last
being Federal Airport Authority Staff School, Calabar. Her mother, Elizabeth
Hewatch is a teacher with the police force. In 1996 she was transferred to
Minna Niger state to teach in The Police Secondary School Minna. And she took
eleven year old Keira.

In early 2005 her family temporarily relocated to
Ghana, and She enrolled in The Graduate School of Management Studies, to study
Travel and Tourism. After her certificate exam in 2006, she decided to pursue
her long time passion of becoming an actor. She spent another year in Ghana
trying to break into the movie industry.

In 2007 Keira Hewatch returned to Nigeria from Ghana
to continue the journey. Her first break came on a TV-Series produced by Emeka
Ossai, titled Cross Roads. After that more acting opportunities presented
themselves. In 2009 her first opportunity at a film role came with a leading
role in the much talked about science fiction film ‘Kajola’ also starring
Desmond Elliot. Keira Hewatch is multi talented, she is also a singer,
songwriter and screenplay writer.
